Á. Di María has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by I. Fernández.
Fernández was very unselfish there as he could easily have gone for goal himself.
GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!! Di Maria gets his goal!! Fernandez gets in behind the Singapore defence and rolls the ball across the top of the six yard box, where Di Maria is waiting to back heel the ball into an empty net.
90'
L. Alario has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by Á. Di María.
Di Maria has been outstanding for Argentina in this game and he put that goal on a plate for Alario.
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLLL!!! Alario smashes in a fifth!! Di Maria heads the ball into the path of Alario who lets the ball bounce before firing a fierce, first-time volley past Mahbud and into the near corner from 10 yards out.
88'
SAVE!! A wonderful save once again from Mahbud as he makes himself big and keeps out Alario’s shot from close range, before taking a knock from Fernandez as he looked to turn the rebound in from a tight angle.
86'
F. Ramli enters the game and replaces F. Hameed.
Chance! A chance for Alario as he plays a neat one-two with Di Maria inside the penalty box, but he can’t get the ball out of his feet to get a convincing shot away and ends up poking the ball straight into Hameed.
A final change for Singapore now with Hameed going off to be replaced by Faris Ramli.
85'
I. Shafiq enters the game and replaces Z. Arifin.
Singapore are making their fifth change now with Izzdin Shafiq coming on to replace Arifin.
82'
WONDERFUL SAVE!! Mahbud does superbly well as Dybala glides past Bennett and gets into the six yard box before looking to roll the ball across the face of goal, but the substitute goalkeeper makes himself big and blocks the ball with his legs.
80'
Di Maria whips in another Argentina corner as the visitors go in search of a fifth goal, and although Fazio gets his head to the ball the referee’s whistle goes for an infringement by Argentina.
78'
Dybala brings down Baharudin midway through the Singapore half and both players look to have landed awkwardly. It looks as though neither is seriously injured though so both players can continue.
76'
Nearly wonderful from Di Maria as he knocks the ball through the legs of Hameed with a lovely second touch, but the touch is just too heavy and the ball rolls out of play for a goal kick.
74'
L. Paredes has scored a goal for Argentina!
GOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! This time Paredes does find the back of the net!! The midfielder easily knocks the ball past Hameed following a poor goal kick from Mahbud, before opening his body up and guiding the ball into the far corner from 18 yards out for Argentina’s fourth goal of the game.
Minute
Description
71'
OFF THE POST!! Parades comes so close to getting himself on the scoresheet as he fires a low, left-footed effort against the foot of the post from 20 yards out, with Mahbud well beaten in the Singapore goal.
70'
I. Fernández enters the game and replaces P. Gómez.
Another change for Argentina now with Ignacio Fernández coming on for the debutant Gomez.
69'
Alario very nearly pounces on a loose ball to break clean through on goal, but Mustafic makes a perfectly timed sliding tackle just outside the box to take the ball away from him.
67'
S. Sulaiman enters the game and replaces S. Hamzah.
Hamzah is also going off, and like Fandi he’s being forced to leave the field on a stretcher with what looks to be a lower back injury. Safirul bin Sulaiman comes on in his place.
65'
S. Ishak enters the game and replaces K. Nizam.
Singapore are making further changes now with Nizam going off to be replaced by Shahril Ishak.
64'
Singapore win a corner following a lovely piece of footwork inside his own half from Harun which got his side moving forward. The corner comes to nothing but it’s certainly given the crowd a little lift.
62'
Singapore are sitting even deeper now and Argentina are finally starting to look a little more clinical.
60'
L. Paredes enters the game and replaces M. Lanzini.
P. Gómez has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by L. Paredes.
Argentina are making their third change now as Lanzini leaves the field to be replaced by Daniel Paredes.
There didn't appear to be much on when Paredes rolled the ball into Gomez, but he left the keeper with no chance with a stinging effort.
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!! What a goal from Gomez!! The midfielder lets the ball roll across his body 25 yards out from goal and drills a fierce, left-footed effort past Mahbud and into the bottom corner.
57'
F. Mustafić enters the game and replaces Irfan Fandi.
Fandi is now down receiving treatment and it looks as though Singapore may be forced into a second change as the stretcher is called for.
This doesn’t look too good for Fandi as he leaves the field on the stretcher, with Fahrudin Mustafić coming on in his place.
55'
His side may be in complete control of this match, but Jorge Sampaoli is still barking instructions from the edge of his technical area.
53'
Di Maria continues to cause problems for Singapore, this time whipping a dangerous low cross across the face of goal, narrowly out of the reach of Alario at the near post.
51'
Gomez makes a good diagonal run into the box and gets his head to Banega’s cross, but he goes for goal when he may have been better looking to pick out Lanzini, and heads the ball well over the bar.
50'
I. Mahbud enters the game and replaces H. Sunny.
Sunny isn’t going to be able to continue and Izwan Mahbud straps up his gloves comes on in his place.
49'
Play has been stopped by the referee as Sunny, the Singapore goalkeeper who had an outstanding first-half, is down injured. It looks as though he hurt his groin while taking a goal kick.
47'
CLOSE!! Lanzini does really well to turn away from Harun and manufacture himself some space to shoot, but he can only send his low shot wide of the right-hand post from 12 yards out.
46'
É. Banega enters the game and replaces L. Biglia.
L. Alario enters the game and replaces J. Correa.
Correa has also been replaced with Lucas Alario coming on.
Argentina are making a couple of changes at the start of this second half, the first of which is Ever Banega coming on for Biglia.
Kick-off! Singapore get the second half underway.
45' +1
We’re into added time now as Correa gets to Di Maria’s corner and flicks his header across the face of goal and out for a goal kick.
45'
Di Maria this time stands up a delightful cross from the right-hand side which picks out Acuna at the back post, but he can’t generate enough power on the header to beat Sunny.
44'
Save! Di Maria picks the ball up just inside the right-hand edge of the penalty box and curls a low, left-footed effort towards goal, but the shot is somewhat lacking in power and Sunny pushes it away from danger, although in truth he probably could have held onto it.
41'
Mammana plays another long ball forward over the top for Correa to chase, but Irfan Fandi uses his strength well to shepherd the ball out of play for a goal kick.
39'
Dybala picks the ball up 25 yards out from goal and knocks it out of his feet before shooting left-footed, but his effort is an unusually poor one and goes high over the bar. Correa then gets in behind the defence after a long ball over the top, but Sunny comes quickly off his line to gather it in just inside his penalty area.
37'
Fazio is penalised for a foul on Khairul Nizam just inside the Argentina half and Singapore launch the ball forward from the resultant free-kick, but Argentina deal with it comfortably.
35'
Singapore will be extremely disappointed to have conceded those two goal from set pieces as they’ve defended relatively well in open play.
33'
Close!! Lanzini comes close to adding a third as he knocks the ball out of his feet only to fire a 20-yard shot into the side netting.
31'
J. Correa has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by P. Dybala.
Dybala had all the time in the world to pick out Correa then.
GOOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!! Correa makes it two! Argentina take a corner short and Dybala gets the ball into his feet next to the byline, before drilling a low cross in towards the near post where Correa is waiting to tap the ball home.
29'
Argentina are seeing an awful lot of the ball deep inside the Singapore half but the home side are defending in numbers and making life difficult for Jorge Sampaoli’s side as Daniel Bennett makes an important block on Di Maria’s shot.
27'
The players are just having a short drinks break now following that goal.
25'
F. Fazio has scored a goal for Argentina! Assist by P. Gómez.
Gómez put the corner into a dangerous area but it wasn't great defending from Singapore.
GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!! Fazio puts Argentina ahead. The centre-back glides into the box and meets Gomez’s corner six yards out from goal to side-foot it first-time into the bottom corner.
23'
Nahuel Guzman is the only player in the Argentina half a lot of the time now but Singapore are keeping their shape well.
21'
Argentina are starting to get going now as Correa gets in behind the Singapore defence having been played in by Alejandro Gomez, but his cross towards Dybala is intercepted and Singapore clear the ball away.
19'
CHANCE!! The best chance of the game so far falls to Correa as Di Maria whips in a delightful left-footed cross from the right-hand side and the Sevilla striker attacks it at the near post, but he fails to connect with the ball and it flies across goal and of play for a goal kick.
18'
Chance!! A chance now for the home side as Harun gets up well to meet a corner eight yards out from goal, but he can’t make clean contact with his header and the ball skims away off his head and out of danger at the far side of the box.
17'
Singapore have a rare opportunity to get the ball into the box as Shakir Hamzah launches a long throw into the middle and Mammana has to get up well to head it away.
15'
SAVE!! Dybala does take the free-kick but he rolls it sideways to Di Maria who fires a ferocious, left-footed effort towards goal which Sunny just about manages to punch away as it swerves towards him.
14'
Argentina are awarded a free-kick 30 yards out close to the right-hand touchline following a foul on Dybala, and it looks as though it will be the Juventus man who takes it.
12'
Safuwan Baharudin is bundled to ground 35 yards away from the Argentina goal and looks to the referee for a free-kick but he’s not interested. Di Maria then goes down inside the box at the other end but once again the referee isn’t having any of it and waives play on.
10'
Emmanuel Mammana perhaps just showing the confidence levels amongst this Argentina side as he attempts a rather unnecessary bicycle kick from the edge of his own box.
8'
As expected Argentina have now settled into this game as Paulo Dybala shows wonderful quick feet to get into the box and into a shooting position, but Hariss Harun makes an outstanding tackle to deny him.
6'
Save!! The first half-chance of the game falls to Correa as he drives into the Singapore penalty area from the right-hand side and forces Sunny to get down to his right and make a smart save with a low, driven shot.
4'
Lucas Biglia surges forward and finds Eduardo Salvio in space on the right-hand side, but his cross in blocked behind for a corner, which is eventually gathered in by Hassan Sunny following a header from Marcos Acuna.
2'
It’s been a bit of a sloppy start from Argentina who’ve given the ball away a couple of times in the early stages, although Singapore haven’t been able to take advantage either time.
1'
Kick-off! Joaquin Correa gets the game underway for Argentina.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the international friendly between Singapore and Argentina at the New Singapore National Stadium.
Singapore are currently ranked 157th in the FIFA world rankings, 155 places below Argentina who sit second, with only Brazil ahead of them.
They come into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Taiwan last time out, which put a huge dent in their 2019 Asian Cup qualification hopes.
Argentina meanwhile edged out Brazil by a single goal in what was new head coach Jorge Sampaoli’s first game in charge, with Gabriel Mercado scoring the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time.
They did though suffer a surprise 2-0 defeat to Bolivia in their last World Cup Qualifier in March, in what proved to be Edgardo Bauza’s final game in charge.
Argentina (2-3-4-1): Guzman; Fazio, Mammana; Acuna, Biglia, Salvio; Gomez, Lanzini, Dybala, Di Maria; Correa
Irfan Fandi could well be the main threat for Singapore, and he starts for the home side along with former Wrexham defender Daniel Bennett.
Jorge Sampaoli may be without Lionel Messi, but he has named a quite extraordinary starting line-up for this game with just two defenders in what is expected to be a 2-3-4-1 formation.
The players are out on the pitch and the national anthems are underway, kick-off is not far away now.
Half-time: Singapore 0-2 Argentina
Argentina lead at half-time thanks to goals from Fazio and Correa, two players who had never previously scored a senior goal for their country.
Singapore have defended well in open play, with both goals having come from set pieces, however they may well have to look to a change in system in this second half as Nizam has looked extremely isolated as the lone striker. Argentina meanwhile will be looking for a little bit more creativity in the second half as it hasn’t quite clicked for them so far.
Full-time: Singapore 0-5 Argentina
Argentina cruise to a comfortable victory against a side ranked 155 places below them, thanks second half goals from Alejandro Gomez, Daniel Parades and Angel Di Maria to go with the two scored by Federico Fazio and Joaquin Correa before the break. That’s all from us for today, thanks for joining us and we hope to see you again soon.
