Messi looks to be in with an opportunity to dart into the box after being left in acres of space over on the right flank, but his run forward is slightly mistimed and the linesman's flag denies him the chance to test Buffon once again.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
89'
F. Caligara gets yellow.
Caligara's first involvement in the game sees him slide into the back of Busquets and send the Barcelona midfielder crashing to the ground with a hefty challenge. Unsurprisingly, he's shown a yellow card.
87'
F. Caligara enters the game and replaces G. Higuaín.
Higuain, who has had a really tough evening, makes way for 17-year-old Fabrizio Caligara, who comes on to make his Juventus debut.
85'
Sandro tries to keep the ball in play deep down the right flank after being put under pressure by Paulinho, but he's unable to do so and gives away a corner. It's fired in by Messi and towards the near post, but Bernardeschi is there to clear the danger without too many problems.
83'
André Gomes enters the game and replaces Andrés Iniesta.
Barcelona have made a late alteration, with Andre Gomes coming on take the place of Iniesta.
82'
Off the line by Pique! The resulting corner is curled over to the far post and right onto the head of Benatia. The centre-back goes incredibly close to heading a goal back for Juventus after beating Ter Stegen, but Pique is there to chest the ball away at the vital moment. The visitors all scream for a handball, but the referee isn't at all interested and waves play on.
81'
Dybala goes close! Juventus keep pushing forward as they continue trying to find a way back into the game. Dybala gets himself into a good position 20 yards out and unleashes a lovely bouncing shot, but Ter Stegen is there to tip it round the post with a decent diving save.
80'
Semedo clumsily loses out over on the left flank and allows Dybala to break forward swiftly. The Argentine do so and then attempts to pick out Higuain, but his pass is underhit and easily dealt with by Umtiti.
78'
Huge let off for Buffon! Alba breaks down the left flank and gets himself into a good position before fizzing a dangerous pass across the face of goal. It should be easily dealt with by Buffon, but the veteran goalkeeper fumbles the ball straight into the path of Suarez. The striker quickly fires in what looks to be Barcelona's fourth goal of the night, but the linesman's flag is rightly raised just as he's about to celebrate.

77'
Paulinho enters the game and replaces I. Rakitić.
Paulinho comes on to take the place of Rakitic for the final 13 minutes of the game.
76'
Costa, who has been very quiet since the break, twists and turns deep down the left flank as he gets the better of Roberto. He then cuts inside and works the ball over to Bernardeschi, who quickly shoots from the edge of the box but can't get the better of Ter Stegen with his slightly scuffed strike.
75'
M. Pjanić gets yellow.
Pjanic catches Roberto as the substitute tries to sprint through the middle of the pitch on a marauding run, leaving the referee with no choice but to show him a yellow card.
73'
Juventus try to push forward over on the right flank as they attempt to find a way back into the game, but they seem to lack the belief and intensity needed to find a way through on goal, and Barcelona are easily able to deal with the danger.
71'
Sergi Roberto enters the game and replaces O. Dembélé.
Dembe receives a rousing round of applause from the home fans as he's replaced by Sergi Roberto.
69'
L. Messi has scored a goal for Barcelona! Assist by Andrés Iniesta.
It was Iniesta who set up Messi to counter-attack quickly, but, once again, that was all about the Argentine. He's on absolute fire at the moment and is causing all sorts of problems for the visitors' fragile back line.
GOAL! Absolutely excellent from Messi once again! The Argentine skips through the middle of the box on a wonderful run as he breaks towards the penalty area. He easily skips past two defenders and gets a shot away from the edge of the box, and it's one that flies straight into the bottom right-hand corner of the net to make it 3-0.
68'
An attempted Juventus attacking move fails to come to anything, and Barcelona counter-attack quickly. Dembele darts down the right wing on a promising run before trying to pick out Messi, but the youngster can't find the Argentine and the visitors are just about able to hold on.
66'
What a chance for Suarez to make it 3-0! A beautiful bouncing cross from Alba bobbles into the middle of the Juventus penalty area and picks out Suarez, who quickly shoots but can't hit the target with his first-time, side-footed half-volley.
64'
A deep cross in from a corner fails to pick out a team-mate inside the Barcelona box, but Bernardeschi does well to pick up the ball over on the right flank. He quickly cuts onto his left foot and shoots, and his curling effort sails not too far wide of the goal.
63'
F. Bernardeschi enters the game and replaces R. Bentancur.
Juventus have made their first change of the night, with Bentancur making way for Federico Bernardeschi.
61'
A. Barzagli gets yellow.
Barzagli has a few angry words for the referee, and he becomes the latest player to receive a yellow card for dissent.
Messi steps up and unleashes a curling strike that heads towards the top left-hand corner of the net, but Buffon is there to push the effort away without too many problems.
60'
A few moments after being dragged to the ground on the edge of the Juventus box without being awarded a free-kick, Dembele eventually picks one up after Andrea Barzagli hauls him to the ground. What will Messi be able to do with this set-piece?
58'
Dybala is left all alone as he charges deep into the Barcelona half of the pitch. He does well to reach the edge of the penalty area and then quickly shoots, but his effort is easily blocked by both Umtiti and Pique before it can test Ter Stegen.
56'
I. Rakitić has scored a goal for Barcelona!
GOAL! Rakitic doubles Barcelona's lead! Messi is left in acres of space over on the right flank, allowing him to dart forward and cut inside before fizzing a pass across the face of goal. It's fired away by Sturaro but only into the path of Rakitic, who quickly shoots and comfortably slots the ball into the back of the net.
54'
L. Messi gets yellow.
Pjanic loses out to Messi after failing to bring down a lofted pass midway inside the Barcelona half of the pitch. The two battle for the ball before the Bosnian drags the Argentine to ground, resulting in the latter calling for a yellow card to be given. One is, but it goes his way for dissent.
52'
Messi hits the post! An absolute screamer of a strike from Messi beats Buffon and looks set to find the back of the net, but it smashes the woodwork before then deflecting off the back of the veteran goalkeeper.
50'
Barcelona patiently knock the ball around deep inside the Juventus half of the pitch as they try to find a way through the visitors' back line. They don't seem to be in too much of a rush to break forward, and they're certainly looking comfortable in possession.
48'
Great chance for Dybala! A low cross in from Sandro isn't fully dealt with by Gerard Pique, allowing the ball to roll out to Dybala. The Argentine quickly shoots, but his rocket of a strike sails wide of the near post.
46'
We're underway once again!
45'
L. Messi has scored a goal for Barcelona! Assist by L. Suárez.
GOAL! Barcelona have broken the deadlock! Messi breaks forward on a brilliant run as he weaves his way past several Juventus players. He then plays a quick one-two with Suarez before shooting, and his low strike trickles into the bottom right-hand corner of the net after leaving Buffon rooted to the spot.
Suarez did really well to quickly knock the ball back to Messi on the edge of the box, but that goal was all about the Argentine. He did brilliantly to somehow find a way through the sea of players camped in front of him before converting expertly.
44'
Dybala steps up and curls a cross into a dangerous position inside the penalty area, but Samuel Umtiti is pushed away as three Juventus players all go for the ball, resulting in the referee awarding a free-kick to the home side.
43'
Higuain charges his way towards the Barcelona box on a lovely run that sees him weave his way through a sea of defenders. He then links up nicely with Matuidi before setting up Dybala to shoot, but the latter's first-time strike is deflected behind for a corner.
42'
Alex Sandro does well to get himself into a good position on the byline after charging down the left wing. He battles hard with Dembele and looks to have got the better of the Frenchman, but he's eventually dispossessed before he can get a cross away.
41'
S. Sturaro enters the game and replaces M. De Sciglio.
De Sciglio hobbles off the pitch to be replaced by Stefano Sturaro, who looks as if he's going to slot straight in at right-back.
40'
De Sciglio has been struggling with what looks to be a slight knock, and he goes down off the ball whilst his side try to push forward. It looks as if his night is over already.
39'
A lovely cross-field pass from Messi flies over to the left flank and manages to pick out Alba in a pocket of space just outside of the box. The full-back brings the ball down well and quickly tries to pick out Suarez, but his cross can't get the better of Benatia and is well cleared by the defender.
37'
What an opportunity for Dembele to open the scoring! A terrible pass across the penalty area from De Sciglio finds Dembele and sets up the youngster to surely score, but he's put under pressure by Sandro and fires his strike wide of the goal.
35'
Nélson Semedo gets yellow.
After dealing with another attempted Barcelona attack, Juventus counter-attack quickly through Costa. The Brazilian darts through the middle of the pitch before taking on Semedo on the halfway line, where he's cynically hauled down by the full-back just as it looks as if he's going to be able to skip past him.
34'
A clever pass forward from Iniesta manages to pick out Messi just outside of the Juventus penalty area. The Argentine is surrounded by players and quickly tries to find a way into the box, but he's closed down well and has the ball poked away from him at the vital moment.
32'
After a period on the back foot, Juventus are able to push forward on a decent attacking move down the right wing. Dybala eventually cuts inside and tries to pick out Costa over on the opposite flank, but, despite his efforts, the Brazilian can't quite reach the ball.
30'
Messi darts through a sea of Juventus players before trying to set up Alba with a chipped pass into the left-hand side of the visitors' penalty area. It looks set to find Alba in a good position, but De Sciglio is there to make sure it doesn't.
28'
The hosts lose the ball midway inside their own half of the pitch and allow Juventus to counter quickly. Dybala charges towards the penalty area and then sets up Gonzalo Higuain, who breaks into the box and sends a bouncing shot straight into the hands of Ter Stegen.
27'
Barcelona are back to bossing possession but they're struggling to do much with it. Suarez hasn't been quite as involved in the action as he normally is, and that's largely due to the rigid nature of Juventus' well-organised back line.
25'
R. Bentancur gets yellow.
The referee's yellow card is out for the first time, and it's Bentancur who receives it after clattering into Rakitic with a mistimed sliding challenge.
24'
Dybala sends the ball in short from the corner and quickly receives it back again. He then tries to pull off an audacious shot from a tight angle just outside of the penalty area, but his shot is a poor one and sails comfortably wide of the far post.
23'
Dybala gets the better of Rakitic before being pushed to the ground, resulting in a free-kick for Juventus on the halfway line. It's fired over to Costa and sets up the Brazilian to cut inside from the left and set up Rodrigo Bentancur with a beautiful dink, and the young midfielder then unleashes a first-time shot that deflects off Alba and behind for a corner.
21'
Barcelona patiently knock the ball around inside the Juventus half of the pitch as they try to find a way through on goal. Iniesta eventually pokes a clever pass into the left-hand side of the box and towards Jordi Alba, but De Sciglio is there to shepherd the ball behind for a goal-kick.
19'
What a save by Buffon! Messi's low shot from the free-kick smashes into the wall, but the ball bounces to Suarez. The Uruguayan quickly unleashes a brilliant strike that looks set to find the back of the net, but Buffon is there to tip it over the crossbar with a brilliant diving stop.
18'
Lovely footwork by Iniesta! The midfielder twists and turns his way through a sea of white and black shirts as he easily gets the better of three Juventus players. He manages to reach the edge of the box and looks set to set up Luis Suarez, but he's bundled over by Blaise Matuidi before he can do so and Barcelona are awarded a free-kick just a few yards outside of the penalty area. Can they make it count?
16'
Vital interception by Buffon! Juventus lose the ball on the halfway line, allowing Barcelona to counter-attack quickly. Sergio Busquets immediately launches a lofted pass over the visitors' disjointed back line and into the path of Dembele, who rushes towards the ball but can't get the better of Buffon on the edge of the penalty area.
14'
Andres Iniesta dances his way through a sea of Juventus players as he tries to carve out a pocket of space. He manages to do so and then attempts to set up Ivan Rakitic with a poked through-ball, but Benatia is there to cut out the danger before the Croatian can receive the ball inside the box.
12'
Juventus quickly win back possession and push forward once again. Miralem Pjanic finds a bit of space for himself and shoots from 25 yards out, but his low effort is well saved by Ter Stegen, who then collects the loose ball before Dybala can pounce on it.
11'
Costa picks up the ball in a promising position over on the left flank, and he quickly nutmegs Semedo as he tries to set up Dybala inside the box. The Argentine runs towards the ball and almost manages to reach it, but he loses out at the last minute and can't get a shot away.
9'
After dealing with the set-piece, Juventus burst forward on an excellent counter-attack. Paulo Dybala is all alone inside the Barcelona half of the pitch and does really well to penetrate the penalty area, but he's put under pressure by two defenders and can only fire a tame shot into the hands of Ter Stegen.
8'
Nelson Semedo embarks on a marauding run as he charges down the right flank, and he's then clumsily caught by Douglas Costa from behind. Barcelona are awarded a free-kick that's swung into the middle of the box, but the cross is slightly underhit by Messi and fails to trouble the Juventus back line.
6'
Rocket a shot from Mattia De Scligio! The full-back cuts inside from the right wing and quickly unleashes a thumping strike from 30 yards out. It completely takes Marc-Andre Ter Stegen by surprise, but the goalkeeper makes a great save to tip the ball round the post. Juventus should be awarded a corner, but the referee instead gives a goal-kick to the home side.
4'
The resulting corner is curled into the heart of the penalty area and momentarily causes problems for the Juventus back line, but Gianluigi Buffon is there to punch the ball away from danger with a strong fist.
3'
After an even start to the game from both sides, Barcelona break down the right flank through Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman gets himself into a great position on the edge of the box before trying to tee up Lionel Messi, but Medhi Benatia is there at the near post and manges to poke the ball behind for a corner.
1'
We're off! Barcelona get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Champions League group stage game between Barcelona and Juventus at Camp Nou.
Tonight’s opening Group D clash is a repeat of the 2015 Champions League final, and it marks the fifth meeting between the two sides in little over two years. Barcelona triumphed that evening to lift their fifth and most recent Champions League trophy, but Juventus got their revenge back in April when they knocked out their opponents at the quarter-final stage on their way to the final.
A lot has happened since then, with the most notable changes taking place at Barcelona. With Neymar gone and Ernesto Valverde now at the helm, tonight’s team has a distinctly different feel to the one that battled against Juventus five months ago, and they’ll be aiming to get their own back against the Serie A champions with an opening victory against their main rivals for top spot.
Three games into the new LaLiga season, Barcelona are thoroughly enjoying themselves and look to be back to their best under Valverde. The former Athletic Bilbao boss has managed to guide his side to three consecutive league victories, but tonight’s huge clash is certainly the biggest test he’s faced since taking charge at the Catalan club, and it’s one he’ll be desperate to pass.
It’s been an equally impressive start to the season for Juventus, who also sit at the top of their league table thanks to three wins in a row. They were given a slight scare by Genoa in their last game before the international break but did well to come back and win 4-2, however, like Barcelona, they’re yet to face any significant opposition so far this season, so tonight’s game is set to be a stern test of their strengths and capabilities.
Barcelona came away with a 2-1 victory the last time the two sides met during a pre-season friendly this summer, but both goals that day were scored by the now-departed Neymar. In his place comes highly rated youngster Ousmane Dembele, who, after briefly featuring against Espanyol on the weekend, is set to make his first start for the Blaugrana this evening.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Juventus XI (4-3-3): Buffon; De Sciglio, Barzagli, Benatia, Sandro; Bentancur, Pjanic, Matuidi; Costa, Higuain, Dybala.
Barcelona substitutes: Cillessen, Mascherano, Roberto, Paulinho, Gomes, Denis Suarez.
Barcelona XI (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Umtiti, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta; Messi, Luis Suarez, Dembele.
Ernesto Valverde has decided to make just one change to the Barcelona side that started the 5-0 victory at home to Espanyol on the weekend, with Ousmane Dembele coming into the starting line-up to replace Gerard Deulofeu.
Meanwhile, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has made six alterations to the team that featured in their last outing, with the most notable inclusion being young Rodrigo Bentancur, who takes the place of Stefano Sturaro and is set to make his first start for the club since joining from Boca Juniors. Elsewhere, Wojciech Szczesny, Stefan Lichtsteiner, Daniele Rugani, Kwadwo Asamoah and the injured Mario Mandzukic have made way for Gianluigi Buffon, Mattia De Sciglio, Andrea Barzagli, Alex Sandro and Paulo Dybala, respectively.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: BARCELONA 1-0 JUVENTUS
Juventus were just seconds away from being able to head into the half-time break with the scoreline still level, but Barcelona were finally able to find a way through the Italian side's rigid back line, and it was all thanks to a piece of brilliance from Messi. The visitors did well to hold the home side at bay until then, but they've now got a big job on their hands if they're to find an equaliser and avoid falling further behind.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: BARCELONA 3-0 JUVENTUS
Juventus made life tough for Barcelona for most of the first half, but they were finally broken down by Barcelona with just a minute or so to go. From then onwards, the home side were easily on top and dazzled whenever they pushed forward, with Messi at his very best. The visitors struggled to get back into the game, and once Barcelona made it 2-0 there was no way back for the Serie A champions.
