De Bruyne provided a perfectly weighted pass for Sterling to run onto.
STERLING MAKES IT TWO!!! Just seconds later, that same combination works wonders for City! De Bruyne cleverly releases Sterling once more but, this time, the Englishman calmly slots past Casilla to double the lead.
58'
JUST WIDE! The Belgian is at the centre of things once more with a clever header to release Sterling in behind the defence. The angle is tight but the England international sees his drilled effort flash just the wrong side of the far post.
57'
De Bruyne looks to create something again for City with a very inviting ball across the face of goal. It is begging to be attacked but nobody can get there and Real survive.
54'
GOOD SAVE! Real look to respond with Benzema threading the ball through to Casemiro, but Ederson is quickly off his line to close the angle and make a block.
52'
N. Otamendi has scored a goal for Manchester City!
OTAMENDI GIVES CITY THE LEAD!!! The deadlock is broken in Los Angeles as the English side hit the front! Stones meets De Bruyne's corner with a powerful header than can only be parried directly into the path of the Argentine, who thumps the ball into the roof of the net for 1-0.

LET-OFF! There is a breakdown in communication between Ederson and Otamendi, whose poor clearance goes straight to Carvajal, but the right-back cannot capitalise and City are off the hook.

45'
There goes the whistle to signal the end of the first half!
43'
NO NEED! Jesus launches himself between two defenders in the hope of being awarded a penalty. However, the referee is having none of it and waves play on. That was fairly ridiculous, though, from the Brazilian.
41'
Dani Carvajal gets yellow.
This may just be a friendly but the competitive nature of it is displayed as Carvajal barges into the back of Aguero. Words are exchanged between the pair before the right-back is shown a yellow card.
40'
Walker is enjoying plenty of opportunities to display his pace down the right flank today. His latest surge sees him reach the penalty area, but Navas is quickly out of goal to smother the loose ball.
38'
GREAT PLAY! Benzema shows great feet to somehow jink his way between two City defenders, before a powerful shot from a tight angle is beaten away by Ederson.
36'
Isco is pulling the strings from midfield for Real at the moment. Most of their play is going through him and this is a good opportunity to stake his claim for a regular starting berth next season.
33'
Nacho gets yellow.
Nacho is the second player in four minutes to go into the book.
31'
The referees have generally kept the cards in their pockets during this year's International Champions Cup. However, the official had no choice there and it was a deserved booking for Toure.
29'
Y. Touré gets yellow.
Toure has his name taken by the referee after a cynical foul on Kovacic, who was threatening to break on the counter attack.
28'
OFF THE POST! Real turn up the pressure at the other end and force a corner, from which Casemiro sees his free header crash against the upright with Ederson not getting there.
25'
CRACKING SAVE! Aguero peels away from his marker to receive the ball in plenty of space in the box. Navas stands his ground well, though, to make a very good save from the Argentine's powerful strike.
24'
Danilo has been lively down the left hand side so far today. However, his shooting does not quite match as his ambitious attempt from range flies into the crowd.
23'
GOOD SAVE! Aguero and Jesus combine for City with the latter squeezing a shot on goal, but Navas shows good reactions by getting a foot to it.
22'
And what a big campaign it is for them after going trophyless last term. However, it is fair to say that they have strengthened accordingly and appear in good shape to do some damage in all competitions.
20'
City are adopting a 3-5-2 formation today, so it will be interesting to see if this is part of Guardiola's planning for the new Premier League season.
18'
As touched upon earlier, it is fair to say that both managers have named strong starting line-ups for this game, which should be one of high quality as a result.
15'
For the first time, De Bruyne demonstrates his quality with some clever feet before getting a shot away from just outside the box. However, his effort is always heading off target.
13'
City enjoying a few bright moments in the attacking third as they search for an opening.
9'
Jesus has looked dangerous in the opening stages. He shoots from 20 yards, but Navas gets down low to his right to make a save.
6'
SAVE! Ederson dives to his left to palm away a 20-yard shot from Isco. It was relatively comfortable for the goalkeeper.
5'
Both teams trying to settle early. It's a back three for City, with signings Danilo and Walker their wing-backs.
2'
Bale with an early chance as the winger skips past Kompany before shooting high and wide from outside the area!
