We're underway at the Etihad Stadium.
Roy Hodgson suffered a defeat in his first match in charge and has been brought in to save the club from the drop. Tests don't come much harder than a trip to City and it may be a case of damage limitation this afternoon.
Palace broke the Premier League record last week in their defeat to Southampton for the longest goalscoring drought to start the term. The Eagles have suffered five defeats on the bounce and a sixth would send their already-fragile confidence to new depths.
They were unstoppable against Watford last week as Aguero notched a hat-trick, while Gabriel Jesus continued his excellent run of form. The duo will be aiming to inflict more woe on Palace this afternoon.
City have started to find their rhythm this season, scoring 11 goals in their last two Premier League matches. Pep Guardiola's men struggled in the early stages against Liverpool before Sergio Aguero put them ahead. Sadio Mane's dismissal opened the floodgates and they've haven't looked back since.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League match between Manchester City and Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Mendy; De Bruyne, Silva, Fernandinho; Sterling, Sane, Aguero.
Manchester City subs: Bravo, Danilo, Mangala, Delph, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Toure.
City have made one change to the side that beat Watford emphatically last week. Leroy Sane comes into the side to replace Gabriel Jesus after scoring a brace during the week against West Brom in the League Cup. Meanwhile, Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy retain their places in the back four.
Hodgson has made three changes to the side that was beaten by Southampton last week. Patrick van Aanholt, Lukas Milivojevic and Mamadou Sakho come into the fold this afternoon. Sakho makes his first start since completing his £20m move from Liverpool to strengthen the Palace backline that has been vulnerable without his presence.
FLASHBACK! City hammered Palace in this fixture last season, putting five past Wayne Hennessey. Goals from David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi secured the win.
STAT ATTACK! City have won nine out of their last 10 Premier League matches against Palace, including the last four on the bounce.
The players are making their way out on to the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE
It took longer than anticipated, but Manchester City hold a 1-0 lead over Crystal Palace thanks to Leroy Sane's moment of magic. It had been a frustrating period of football for City before then as they struck the post, while Wayne Hennessey made a series of solid stops to deny them. At the other end Palace came close to breaking their duck this term, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek struck the post and then fired wide from close range. Just when it appeared the Eagles had held the home side in the first half. David Silva unlocked the defence, allowing Sane to apply the brilliant finish.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway again shortly.
FULL-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 5-0 CRYSTAL PALACE
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
It took Manchester City a while to get going in the contest, but once they were in full flow they were unstoppable. A brace from Raheem Sterling along with strikes from Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero and Fabian Delph blew Crystal Palace away this afternoon. City maintain their lead on goal difference at the top of the Premier League table, while Palace extend their losing run to six matches along with their goal drought to start the campaign.
