The home side are yet to taste defeat in the Europa League and have won seven of their eight matches in the tournament. Inter, meanwhile, have won both of their matches in the competition since dropping down from the Champions League and are yet to concede a goal.
The teams are out and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Commerzbank-Arena.
Frankfurt have yet to really get going in this one but have looked a threat down the left-hand side through Kostic. The wing-back’s direct running and pace has been a real problem for D’Ambrosio who has lost the Serbian winger on numerous occasions, and the hosts will look to target that side in the second half. Inter, meanwhile, will be pleased with their performance thus far. Politano has got away down the right wing several times in the opening half and will look to exploit the space left by the attack-minded Kostic as the game wears on.
Before next week’s second leg fixture, Frankfurt return to domestic action as they travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf in the Bundesliga whilst Inter host SPAL in their next Serie A game.
That brings an end to our coverage of the Europa League round-of-16 first leg clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Inter at Commerzbank-Arena.Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
