Good stop from Osako! Junior Fernandes cuts inside from the left and blasts on target, but it's straight at the goalkeeper, who parries comfortably.
90' +3
Arias flaps at the set-piece, but there is a Chile defender on hand to hack clear. Nothing has quite fallen for Japan.
90' +2
Ó. Opazo gets yellow.
YELLOW: Some lovely skill from Abe sees Opazo into the book as Japan earn a final opportunity from a free-kick.
90' +1
There will be a minimum of four minutes of added time in this one.
89'
Kubo has been a real bright spark for Japan, but his latest dribble runs behind for a goal-kick. This is a really disappointing end for the Asian side.
87'
J. Fernándes enters the game and replaces A. Sánchez.
SUB: A job well done, Sanchez bows out. Junior Fernandes will see this one out.
86'
Japan will be desperate for this game to end now. They have matched Chile for long periods, but the defending champions' clinical edge has seen them to a big, big win.
83'
E. Vargas has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by A. Sánchez.
GOAL!! Oh, this is so harsh on Japan! It's four! Vargas darts in behind and, with Osako dashing off his line, lifts a lovely lob into the open goal. That's his second. So easy.
And Sanchez, who was having a relatively disappointing outing, has a goal and an assist in double-quick time. He lofts the ball in behind for the alert Vargas.
82'
A. Sánchez has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by C. Aránguiz.
Aranguiz does brilliantly to hold off a challenge in the area and dig out a cross for Sanchez, who was quickest off the mark.
GOAL!! That will be that! Sanchez makes it 3-0! The striker stoops to head into the top-left corner and clinch victory for Chile.

Description
80'
Ó. Opazo enters the game and replaces J. Fuenzalida.
SUB: Chile look to be killing time now, bringing on Opazo for Fuenzalida.
79'
S. Okazaki enters the game and replaces A. Ueda.
SUB: And there is no goal for Ayase Ueda. After a series of misses in a largely positive display, he is replaced by veteran star Okazaki.
78'
P. Hernández enters the game and replaces A. Vidal.
SUB: Vidal indeed makes way, applauding the Chile fans as Hernandez comes on.
73'
Good stop from Osako. Aranguiz carries the ball forward brilliantly and an unorthodox prod from Fuenzalida could have caused the goalkeeper problems. He hangs on.
71'
Chile are popping the ball around with an air of confidence that belies the string of chances Japan have missed. The Asian side could even be winning this game. Instead, time is running out for them to muster a dramatic fightback.
66'
H. Abe enters the game and replaces S. Nakajima.
K. Miyoshi enters the game and replaces D. Maeda.
SUB: A couple of Japan changes, including the introduction of Miyoshi for Maeda.
SUB: Nakajima, who faded after a bright start, is also off for Abe.
64'
Japan force a corner on the left but Nakajima's delivery is cleared and the ball is soon up the other end of the pitch. Chile should be able to shut up shop.
62'
Chile get another ball into the area but Maripan towers over the top. A third goal would end this match once and for all.
60'
The goal and that missed opportunity have combined to slow Japan a little. Chile are in complete control of this contest now.
54'
E. Vargas has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by M. Isla.
GOAL!! Vargas makes it two! It's a glorious Chile move. Vidal flicks to Aranguiz and the ball moves through Vargas to Isla, back to Vargas. A low strike deflects off Tomiyasu and deceives Osako.
Isla has been brilliant from right-back and he smartly lays a square pass into the path of Vargas 20 yards from goal. A deserved assist.
52'
It all gets a little scrappy in the Japan area as Sanchez's chest control does not quite drop for Vidal. Isla returns the ball into the area, but Osako finally claims.
50'
Another corner leads to another Chilean effort, but a weak header drops well wide of the Japan goal.
49'
A speedy Chile break ends with Isla winning another corner, unable to beat the first man with his low sliding cross.
48'
The two number sevens race towards a challenge and Sanchez is furious that he is adjudged to have fouled Shibasaki. It has been a largely frustrating outing for the Chile man, although his side lead.
47'
Pulgar almost has a sight of a second goal. Another right-wing corner is poorly cleared and he awkwardly volleys over the top, off balance but in enough space to get the shot off.
46'
KICK-OFF: Chile get us back under way for the second half in Sao Paulo.
Sugioka nods the ball behind for a Chile corner, although Fuenzalida wants a penalty for handball. The officials are not interested.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: Japan 0 Chile 1
45' +1
There is a minimum of one minute of added time.
45'
SHOULD BE TWO! Sanchez almost immediately makes amends! The United man meets a right-wing cross and should do better than directing a header straight at Osako.
44'
ALMOST AN EQUALISER! Sanchez gifts the ball away and Ayase Ueda should do better. He is played in by Shibisaki and rounds the goalkeeper, but the forward keeps going wider and ultimately sends a tame finish wide. Chile were completely caught out.
41'
E. Pulgar has scored a goal for Chile! Assist by C. Aránguiz.
GOAL!! Chile get their goal! 1-0! Pulgar is up highest to power a header into the top-left corner from the right-wing corner.
Aranguiz won the set-piece and then took it, tempting Osako a couple of yards from his line but picking out Pulgar wonderfully.
40'
Aranguiz arrows a low ball in from the right after some patient build-up play. The ball bounces behind for a corner, while Shibasaki is slow getting back to his feet following a collision with Isla.
39'
Chile look to be building momentum. The ball pings around the Japan area, but Vidal fouls his man as he attempts to reach Sanchez's bobbling square ball.
38'
Sanchez works so hard to keep Chile's attack alive after a poor delivery from the left, but another underhit cross allows Japan to get the ball away. Disappointing.
37'
Japan's response is to win another corner, but again they cannot trouble a resolute Chile defence. The two-time reigning champions are soon back on the attack.
33'
Corner at the other end as Isla's cross deflects up dangerously inside the area. Shibasaki heads behind.
32'
Japan get the ball clear and Ayase Ueda's speed keeps Chile on the back foot for a period. Maeda continues to bully his opponents and gets another corner.
An important header diverts the initial set play, before Tomiyasu fouls Isla to give Chile some respite in their own right-back position.
30'
Chile are moving the ball much quicker now and a delightful turn from Sanchez earns another free-kick. He is belatedly starting to link up wtih Beausejour to some effect.
28'
Almost an opening for Chile! Hara brilliantly challenges Sanchez to nudge Isla's cross from the right clear, before Beausejour gets down the left to find Vargas. The forward can only head the ball directly up in the air, though, and Osako claims.
26'
Maeda bustles down the left to win a corner, but Vidal deals with the set-piece at the near post. Japan's attacking threat has waned slightly.
24'
Japan are battling hard in the midfield, with more tackles flying in. A clever Sanchez pass has them briefly scrambling, but the Asian side regroup.
21'
Y. Nakayama gets yellow.
YELLOW: Another heavy challenge on Sanchez and Nakayama is perhaps fortunate to only see yellow. He goes in studs up on the Manchester United forward.
20'
Chile's final ball is lacking early on. A delivery from the free-kick is poor, then Vidal hacks a dreadful cross behind for a goal-kick.
19'
T. Hara gets yellow.
YELLOW: Kubo is muscled off the ball and Hara is forced to trip Sanchez to stop the breakaway. The defender is booked.
16'
Japan are not lacking in confidence. Teenage goalkeeper Osako dances past Vargas with a lovely touch.
15'
Aranguiz is furious as he cuts the ball back into the middle and there are no Chile players up in support. The flag belatedly goes up, but he was onside and in a promising position.
14'
There is the first Chile shot... It's a poor one. Vidal lashes at a bouncing ball on the edge of the area and it loops over the top.
13'
Another straightforward stop from Arias sees Naomichi Ueda head on target. Chile are yet to have a shot in anger.
12'
Crucial intervention from Maripan! Ayase Ueda was on the move there, chasing after Kubo's pass. Chile are stretched and the defender slides in.
10'
Another half-chance! Hara centres from the right and Ayase Ueda cannot quite stretch to make contact. Japan are causing Chile problems.
9'
A first save from Arias is a simple one, but Nakajima does brilliantly to carry the ball into space for the shot. The Al Duhail man has worried the Chile defence with his close control and quick feet on a couple of occasions already.
8'
Fuenzalida should have been in! A gorgeous reverse pass from Aranguiz found the wide man's run, but the control was really poor. Japan escape.
7'
Over the top from Kubo. The angle for the free-kick was tight but suited his left foot. A powerful thump flies off target.
6'
Ayase Ueda's hard running is causing problems, too, and a dart in behind draws a free-kick in a great position on the right side of the Chile penalty area.
5'
There is a busy start to this match, yet the ball has scarcely left the middle third. Vidal has been heavily involved, while Kubo has shown some nice touches on either flank.
3'
A lax pass at the back from Japan gives Sanchez the opportunity to lead an attack, but he cannot pick out strike partner Vargas.
2'
Unsurprisingly, there is a large Chilean contingent in the stands. A big roar goes up as Vidal smashes into Kubo, the 18-year-old recently signed by Real Madrid.

This is Japan's second appearance at the Copa America, failing to win a single match last time out in 1999. The Asian Cup finalists and Chile are joined by Uruguay and Ecuador in Group C. Oscar Tabarez's men top the table after a 4-0 win.
Subs: Oscar Opazo, Igor Lichnovsky, Yerko Urra, Nicolas Castillo, Pablo Hernandez, Paulo Diaz, Esteban Pavez, Brayan Cortes, Gonzalo Jara, Junior Fernandes, Angelo Sagal, Diego Valdes.
Chile (4-3-3): Gabriel Arias; Mauricio Isla, Gary Medel, Guillermo Maripan, Jean Beausejour; Charles Aranguiz, Erick Pulgar, Arturo Vidal; Jose Pedro Fuenzalida, Eduardo Vargas, Alexis Sanchez.
Subs: Daiki Suga, Yugo Tatsuta, Eiji Kawashima, Tatsuya Ito, Taishi Matsumoto, Shinji Okazaki, Ryosuke Kojima, Hiroki Abe, Ko Itakura, Tomoki Iwata, Kota Watanabe, Koji Miyoshi.
Here come the teams in Sao Paulo! We are closing in on kick-off...
It will be interesting to see how Japan approach this second half. With Uruguay also in the group, their task would look particularly daunting with a defeat here. This is a young side but they have performed well and will be learning from this experience.
Japan will take plenty of positives from this one despite the big defeat, while Chile may already have one foot in the next stage. That's all from Sao Paulo. Thanks for joining us and, until next time, goodbye!
