Cavani tries his luck from the free-kick, but gets nowhere near the target.
90'
More teasing play from Neymar and then Mbappe draws another rash lunge from Debuchy. However, the full-back yet again escapes a second booking.
88'
Paredes acts as the playmaker again, threading a neat throughball into Bernat’s path. The full-back looks all set to tee up Mbappe, but Moulin gets down to it.
87'
Neymar attempts a quick interchange with Mbappe, but for once Saint-Etienne cut it out. Paredes picks up the loose ball and looks to provide a pass for Cavani, yet a defender gets there first.
86'
There are four minutes remaining, yet ten PSG players are in Saint-Etienne’s half, with only Rico in the hosts’ own territory as Tuchel’s side look to pick there way through the visitors’ defence yet again.
83'
It is hard not to feel sorry for Saint-Etienne, who were chasing the match right from the second minute, and were not helped at all by Fofana’s dismissal. It is a procession for PSG, who will surely look to get Cavani on the scoresheet before full time.
81'
J. Draxler enters the game and replaces Á. Di María.
A final change from Tuchel. Draxler comes on, with Di Maria – after another fine performance – taken off.
80'
NO GOAL! Cavani thinks he’s got his goal, after Mbappe pounces on Neymar’s slide-rule pass and feeds the Uruguayan, but the offside flag rules it out.
75'
PSG are playing at walking pace, though as soon as they get into the final third, they click up through the gears. Bernat again gets free down the left wing, but his cross fails to find Cavani.
Minute
Description
72'
E. Cavani enters the game and replaces M. Icardi.
L. Paredes enters the game and replaces M. Verratti.
Tuchel takes the chance to make a double change. First, Verratti makes way for Paredes, who the PSG coach has insisted will not be leaving the club in January.
The second change sees Cavani – who like Paredes has been told he will not be leaving PSG this month, though Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen to do a deal – replace Icardi.
71'
Y. Cabaye has scored a goal for Saint-Etienne!
Penalty saved by Sergio Rico!
CABAYE SCORES! Well, it was not easy for the former PSG midfielder, who saw his tame penalty saved by Rico. The rebound fell kindly to him, however, and he was able to head home his first Saint-Etienne goal. It's 6-1.
67'
K. Mbappé has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by M. Icardi.
IT’S 6-0 NOW! It was just a matter of time, and now Mbappe does have his goal. Icardi returned the favour, latching onto Di Maria’s incredible pass, taking a brilliant first touch and with his second teeing up Mbappe, who slides in to nudge in a record-equalling goal.
It was a wonderful touch by Icardi to take down Di Maria’s pass, and he made no mistake in providing Mbappe with a chance to score his 10th goal in eight games.
65'
Again, Bernat gets into the area unchallenged and, once more, the ex-Bayern Munich man cannot get his touch right, this time slicing an attempted pass to Mbappe out of play.
61'
Edmilson Correia enters the game and replaces W. Khazri.
A third and final change from Puel, as Khazri makes way for Correia, who is making his fourth senior appearance.
60'
Di Maria has almost gone under the radar today, but he has just provided a pinpoint pass for Mbappe, whose flick was behind Icardi and the chance goes begging. PSG don’t look in the mood to let Saint-Etienne off without scoring more, though.
57'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by K. Mbappé.
IT’S 5-0 – ICARDI HAS HIS HAT-TRICK! Three chances, three goals for Icardi, who – after Neymar released Mbappe – is on hand to connect with the youngster’s simple pass and tuck home into an empty net.
He might not have scored so far today, but Mbappe is playing creator in chief with another assist. He could easily have gone for goal himself, yet unselfishly provided the square ball for Icardi.
56'
More superb skill from Neymar, who gets the better of Debuchy with a no-look, reverse pass towards Mbappe. Moulin, however, had raced out to stem the danger.
54'
Debuchy gets lucky! The full-back gets frustrated by Neymar’s showboating, and lunges in recklessly. Given he has already been booked, he is very fortunate not to have been sent off.
53'
After some fine combination play, a fantastic pass from Neymar releases Bernat, but the defender gets the ball trapped under his feet and can only skew his touch out for a goal-kick.
51'
Khazri does well to get Saint-Etienne up the pitch, before drawing a clumsy tackle from Kehrer. The former Bordeaux and Sunderland forward whips in the resulting free-kick, but no attacker can get on the end of it.
49'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by K. Mbappé.
Mbappe's first touch was delightful, giving him time and room to get the better of Moulin, who had little choice but to commit. The youngster could have gone for goal but, with two players on the line, he instead kept his cool and picked out Icardi, who hammered home.
ICARDI AGAIN! It's 4-0 to PSG, as Icardi doubles his tally, but all of the credit must go to Mbappe who, having been played in by Di Maria, rounded Moulin before supplying his fellow forward with a simple finish.
48'
Verratti plays a wonderful first-time pass over the top towards Icardi, but the Inter loanee's touch is a poor one, and Moulin is able to collect.
46'
C. Abi enters the game and replaces M. Rivera.
A change for the visitors. Rivera is replaced by fellow teenager Abi, who will join Khazri up top.
We are back up and running at Parc des Princes. One change for the visitors, but none from Tuchel as of yet.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: PSG 3-0 SAINT-ETIENNE.
44'
J. Moulin is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
OWN GOAL! It gets better for PSG, but this is getting embarrassing for Claude Puel’s side. Mbappe unleashes the tricks with a wonderful flick into Di Maria, whose low cross deflects first off a defender, then off the post, before diverting in off the heel of the unfortunate Moulin. It's 3-0 to the home side and that really is game over.
43'
Brilliant from Mbappe, who drives at full pace to keep in an overhit pass from Neymar. His cutback is intercepted, but PSG keep up the pressure…
41'
With 10 men and two goals down, if this were a league match Saint-Etienne would have to focus on damage limitation. As it is, they may be equally as well served attempting to attack, thoughthat of course will leave them even more open at the back.
39'
Neymar has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by Á. Di María.
GOAL! Neymar makes it 2-0! And there is the second goal for PSG, as their Brazilian superstar lofts a wonderful first-time effort over the onrushing Moulin after Di Maria split Saint-Etienne’s defence with a precise throughball.
It was a perfect pass from Di Maria, and an equally as perfectly timed run from Neymar, whose finish was exquisite.
36'
PSG are in complete control now, though Tuchel will want a bit more cutting edge from his side to finish off this tie before the interval.
34'
T. Kolodziejczak enters the game and replaces A. Dioussé.
Puel has had to react to Fofana’s red card by making an early change. Diousse is the man to make way, with Kolodziejczak coming on to partner Perrin at the back.
31'
W. Fofana gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
Red card! Well, just as Saint-Etienne thought they were getting back into it, they have been reduced to 10 men! Di Maria was racing clear down the right, and Fofana – tracking back – could only bring the winger down. Replays suggest he did not get too much of a firm touch, but the referee has made his decision.
27'
Icardi, who has hardly been involved since opening the scoring, drops deep and attempts to spin a long, raking pass over the top of Saint-Etienne’s line and into Di Maria. He puts too much power on it, however, with Moulin able to collect it with ease.
25'
M. Debuchy gets yellow.
Well, that’s one way to try and stop him! Neymar receives a pass from Di Maria and quickly lays the ball back off, only to then take a clattering from behind from Debuchy, who picks up a third booking for Saint-Etienne.
24'
Saint-Etienne have certainly managed to gain something of a foothold in this match in the last few minutes, though PSG still look likely to carve through their defence in two or three passes once Neymar gets on the ball.
20'
Khazri should do better, there. Saint-Etienne’s forward was found out the edge of PSG’s area, but surrounded by defenders, he was only able to scoop a tame effort towards Rico, who made a comfortable stop.
17'
Neymar and Mbappe take turns to toy with Saint-Etienne’s defence, though neither can find the way through. A slack pass then hands Gueye the chance to break, though his ball through to Icardi was behind the striker, meaning PSG have to recycle possession and start again.
13'
W. Fofana gets yellow.
A second yellow card in quick succession for PSG, as Fofana is booked for a deliberate handball, with the defender having scampered across to prevent Mbappe getting in down the hosts’ left flank.
11'
M. Camara gets yellow.
Honorat does well initially to pounce on a loose ball and lead a counter down the right, but his cross is a poor one. Camara attempts to pressurise Gueye, who had picked up the scraps, only for the Saint-Etienne midfielder to dive in far too heavily and receive the first booking.
6'
That’s not far off! Honorat – who moments ago provided the cross for Rivera – takes on Bernat and manages to get into PSG’s area, before lifting a cute effort towards the far corner. He gets too much on it, though, with the ball landing safely on the roof of the net.
4'
Puel looks furious on the touchline, though with the quality PSG have up front, Saint-Etienne were always going to be up against it. They do, however, get forward down the right, with a low cross finding Rivera. The youngster is unable to take it under his control, though, and Kehrer intercepts.
2'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for PSG! Assist by T. Meunier.
GOAL! ICARDI MAKES IT 1-0 TO PSG! Well, that didn’t take long. The hosts keep the ball right from the kick-off, with Meunier eventually sliding a neat pass into the path of Icardi, who lifts in a brilliant first-time finish from an acute angle.
It was a clever pass from Meunier, but Icardi still had plenty to do. He has been rejuvenated since his move from Inter, however, and made no mistake with a difficult finish.
1'
We are up and running at Parc des Princes, with PSG getting proceedings underway.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Coupe de la Ligue, as Paris Saint-Germain take on Saint-Etienne in the quarter-finals.
PSG were eliminated at this stage in the completion last season going down 2-1 to Guingamp, who eventually lost to Strasbourg in the final. Thomas Tuchel’s side are cruising at the top of Ligue 1 and are already through in the Coupe de France, and are sure to be eager to make it past this hurdle this time around.
Saint-Etienne, meanwhile, won just one of their last five matches before the winter break, with their sole victory coming against Nimes in this competition. They are 14th in Ligue 1, though eight points above the relegation zone, and a good cup run will provide the perfect tonic to what has so far been a frustrating campaign.
PSG (4-3-3): Sergio Rico; Thomas Meunier, Thilo Kehrer, Marquinhos, Juan Bernat; Marco Verratti, Idrissa Gueye, Angel Di Maria; Kylian Mbappe, Mauro Icardi, Neymar.
It certainly looks like Tuchel means business at Parc des Princes, with Neymar, Icardi and Mbappe all starting, while the likes of Cavani and Sarabia are in reserve, while PSG’s midfield is probably what would be considered as the first-choice three, too.
PSG SUBS: Nianzou Kouassi, Julian Draxler, Colin Dagba, Edinson Cavani, Leandro Paredes, Marcin Bulka, Pablo Sarabia.
SAINT-ETIENNE SUBS: Aimen Moueffek, Arnaud Nordin, Edmilson Indjai Correia, Stefan Bajic, Jean Eudes Aholou, Charles Abi, Timothee Kolodziejczak.
The teams are about to make their way out at Parc des Princes, ahead of what should be a fascinating match in Paris.
Tuchel may well look to rest a few of his key names in the second half, and Cavani is sure to be chomping at the bit to get in on the act. Puel, meanwhile, will simply be hoping his side can keep any further damage to a minimum after the restart.
That’s all for now. Until next time, goodbye!
Next up for PSG, it is Monaco, as Mbappe looks to set a club record by scoring in a ninth straight match. Saint-Etienne, meanwhile, have to pick up the pieces before facing Nantes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.
