We're underway in this friendly contest.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the friendly clash between Czech Republic and Northern Ireland at Generali Arena.
Czech Republic produced a huge performance on Friday to boost their hopes of qualifying for Euro 2020, defeating England 2-1 on home soil. Jaroslav Silhavy's side trailed to an early strike from the penalty spot from Harry Kane, but they were able to respond as Jakub Brabec equalised before Zdenek Ondrasek scored a winner in the second half. They will be looking for their third on the bounce to maintain their momentum.
Northern Ireland were beaten last time out by Netherlands, putting their hopes of reaching Euro 2020 in jeopardy. They've lost back-to-back games in Group B, leaving them in third place off the pace of Netherlands and Germany. Michael O'Neill will be looking at tonight's fixture to find a semblance of form for the next round of qualifiers. However, it will be a massive challenge for his team on the road.
CZECH REPUBLIC (4-2-3-1): Jiri Pavlenka; Radim Reznik, Stefan Simic, Ondrej Kudela, Ladislav Krejci; Josef Husbauer, Lukas Kalvach; Jaromir Zrmhal, Alex Kral, Jan Kopic; Michael Krmencik.
CZECH REPUBLIC SUBS: Tomas Vaclik, Ondrej Celustka, Jakub Brebec, Vladimir Coufal, Vladimir Darida, Zdenek Ondrasek, Jakub Jantko, Tomas Soucek, Ondrek Kolar, Jan Boril, Patrik Schick, Lukas Masopust.
NORTHERN IRELAND (3-5-2): Michael McGovern; Craig Cathcart, Jonny Evans, Tom Flanagan; Conor McLaughlin, Paddy McNair, Sean Davis, Jordan Thompson, Stuart Dallas; Liam Boyce, Gavin Whyte.
NORTHERN IRELAND SUBS: Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Michael Smith, George Saville, Niall McGinn, Kyle Lafferty, Shane Ferguson, Corry Evans, Matthew Kennedy, Liam Donnelly, Josh Magennis, Trevor Carson.
Czech Republic boss Jaroslav Silhavy did make 11 changes to his side that beat England on Friday. He will be regretting that move now as his team have looked lost on the pitch, especially at the back where Ireland have cut open the home side time and again. Silhavy may have to go to his bench for a response from his team.
Czech Republic continue their bid to qualify for Euro 2020 on November 14 at home against Kosovo, while Northern Ireland are next in action in their qualifying match against Netherlands at Windsor Park on November 16.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
